TBT: Tampa’s Wheels of Success Needs Spot to Park Charity

With the Family Justice Center possibly ceasing operations this month because of funding problems, Wheels of Success may need to find a new home.

But executive director Susan Jacobs is too busy — right now.

Wheels of Success (wheelsofsuccess.org) provides cars and auto services for needy families. The justice center is an umbrella organization that houses several nonprofits under one roof to help domestic abuse victims.

But Jacobs is primarily focused on a giveaway of 25 cars at Florida’s Largest Home Show at the Tampa Convention Center from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

“We are able to stay at the FJC until Aug. 26,” Jacobs said. “So that should at least give us time after the event to pack and put things in storage that will not fit at our car lot location, where we will temporarily operate.”

Wouldn’t it be cool if an auto dealer provided them a home?
