Please join us for fun, food and drinks while supporting Wheels of Success. 20% OF ALL PROCEEDS from house draft beer & food sales will benefit Wheels of Success. There will also be a 50/50 raffle directly benefitting Wheels of Success (You Do Not Have to be Present to Win). At 7:00 PM Wheels of Success will be presenting a “New to Him” vehicle to Kameron, a shining example of strength & courage, who will soon exit the Foster Care system. Kameron, wouldn’t be able to continue his journey of success at Hillsborough Community College, without reliable wheels. Kameron was referred to us by Family Resources’ “SafePlace2Btoo- LGBTQ Program”, which provides an affirming & safe space for youth to be their authentic self while providing a roadmap towards self-sufficiency.
This vehicle presentation would not have been possible without 10 News providing the funding to get the vehicle repaired and back on the road.
About Kameron
“What’s important to know about Kameron is that he isn’t a victim of circumstance. He is a shining example of how you can thrive in the face of adversity when appropriate supports are in place. Kameron, like other youth, ended up in the Foster Care system after years of housing instability. With determination and drive, he purposefully set out to complete high school, with college to follow. Due to the location of his high school relative to placement, he was dependent on public transportation. During his Junior and Senior year, he woke at 5 am each day to take two buses and arrive at school on-time.
For Kameron, while aware of his past, his focus is on the road ahead. This is where “Wheels of Success” came in. Their program, will provide Kameron with the reliable “wheels” necessary to start college this fall & continue his journey of positivity, hope, and courage in the face of adversity.”
