2008 Labor Day
This year we will be giving out
20 cars on September 1st from 9:00-12:00 at
The Family Justice Center at Florida & Busch
Blvd. The clients were selected from applications
sent in to us by social service agencies, employers,
and churches. As always, our goal is to keep
working families working by providing them
with reliable transportation.
This year, as in the past 2 years, Altrusa
International Tampa Bay Chapter awarded
us part of the funds for this program which
was matched by Publix Super Market
Charities and The Children's
Board of Hillsborough County.
This funding will allow us to
repair 20 vehicles that were donated by individuals
in the community and get them "on the
road again". In addition, The
Community Foundation of Tampa Bay provided
the funding for batteries and oil changes for
each of the vehicles.
If you would like to contribute
to make this an even more successful Labor
Day for families who really want to continue
working, we still have 5 families who have
cars that are in need of repair that we would
also like to get on the road. No contribution
is too small.
